About the Havanese

This sturdy, carefree, happy little dog gets along well with everyone (people, children, pets and cats)  This breed, now rare in Cuba, it's origin, is once again rising in popularity.  The dog belongs to the Bichon family, the French word meaning "fleecy dog".

There are no preferences given to one color or another. Rarely do we have just a solid white Havanese pup. They are usually party colored. This is a breed that is perfect for someone with allergies. They are odorless and non-shedding. Bi-weekly brushing will keep their coat tangle free, light and airy. Some people prefer a puppy clip, this takes less maintenance but also changes the texture of their coat, making it thicker and wooly.

Havanese are natural companion dogs: gentle and responsive.  They become very attached to their human families and are excellent with children.
